Retin A For Wrinkles Or Problematic Skin
Retin A For Wrinkles - It is a given fact we are going to age and many of us are somewhat obsessed with getting older. So, short of surgery, what can we do about it? Here are my top three suggestions.
Use pure topical Vitamin C's as your antioxidant protection
Use a retinol product as a way of reducing the lines you already have
Why Use Retinol Products For Wrinkles?
Retin A initially became an effective product for treating problematic skin. In the process it was discovered it did a great job with wrinkles. Retin A when used in high concentrations of pure retinol ensures maximum benefits such as reduced appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, age spots and blemishes.
How To Use Retin A For Wrinkles or Problematic Skin
When first using Retin A you need to limit initial use to once or twice a week; gradually increasing use to every other night and then each evening as tolerated. You want to be very careful using the product near the eyes. It's best to avoid eye area.
After cleansing and toning you will apply a very small amount and to ensure best results wait 30 minutes before applying any other products. The most important part of using Retin A is to make sure you use a sunscreen with zinc oxide.
It is not recommended you use a retinol product without proper sunscreen protection. Dosage tolerance differs with individuals. It is always recommended you start with not more than a .05 Retin A.
Retinol Product and Your Skin
Retinol is metabolized to retinoic acid in a very specific conversion process: Retinol enters the epithelial cell, binds to a specific protein and is then metabolized to retinoic acid. The retinoic acid binds to retinoic acid receptors, thereby activating them.
Retinoic acid receptors, when activated by retinoic acid, transfer genetic instructions from DNA to the cell's protein-producing factory, telling it to assemble proteins needed for skin cell function.
When applied topically, only a small amount of retinol is converted to retinoic acid, which explains why a greater amount of retinol is needed to achieve effects comparable to retinoic acid.
